Biography
Xavier Alistair Santiago is an Actor, Producer and Writer based in New York City.
Born in North Carolina and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Xavier began his evolution as a performer when he moved to Spartanburg, South Carolina. There he attended Paul M. Dorman High School, one of the top musical public high schools in the country, where he garnered praise in a variety of venues. As a member of the jazz band, marching band, wind ensemble and orchestra, he became very accomplished with several woodwind instruments (yes, and a self-admitted band geek, too). It was here that Xavier began to explore entertainment.
After graduating from high school, he went on to pursue his BA in Computer Science (go figure!) and then realized his dream of being a performer. But unlike many performers of today, what makes Xavier different is being an alum of one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country: Bowdoin College. Due to the influence of his private instructor, Elizabeth D’Onofrio, post-college, he attended the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts. It was here that he gained a wide exposure to the craft of acting and began to hone his personal instrument. Combining his practical, no-nonsense business mentality with his training in the techniques of Meisner and Strasberg, Xavier brings a unique and intense style to his work.
Since graduating from the Academy, Xavier has worked from Off-Broadway to independent films and television, gradually expanding not only his resume but his knowledge and appreciation of life. Never closed to any concept or idea, whether it be learning a new skill or adapting his physical body to match the role, he pursues his craft with tenacity.
As time progressed, Xavier branched into Writing and Producing in order to pursue more unique projects. He attended Columbia University focusing on the importance of good story-telling technique and bringing them to fruitful production.
Currently, he has produced three short films: “Job Interviewing Made Easy“, “Stalled” and “Pie“; one documentary: “The Catawba“; and one feature: “Crispy, Crackers and Beans“. Xavier has two feature films in development and one in production. In addition to these feathers in his cap, Xavier has worked as a consultant and on-air host with other shows, including Animal Planet’s series, “Groomer Has It!” To find out more about his current work and future projects, please contact him through the CONTACT page, or look at the News section.
